Easy to Install, very difficult to Disconnect
I signed up with Energy Australia and Dodo using Energy Monster. I advised them upfront that I would only be needing the services for one month because I am heading overseas. The process was simple and quick BUT when it came time to disconnect I was told by Energy Monster that they don't handle disconnections so they gave me the generic numbers for Dodo and Energy Australia. Dodo was reasonably easy to disconnect but energy Australia has been a nightmare (as always).
- Firstly they did not include my Account Number in the Welcome pack and I have not yet received my first bill so don't know my account number
- I therefore had to go through a lengthy identity verification process
- Then they advised that there would be a disconnection fee of $43 which Energy Monster did not mention
- They advised that i would not receive a confirmation of the disconnection, that the disconnection fee would appear on my final bill (so what happens if the operator makes a mistake, do I keep getting charged?)
In conclusion I would suggest not to use Energy Monster because they are all about making the sale but zero after sales service, you are left to deal with the likes of Energy Australia whom we all know are useless when it comes to after sales service.
