Easy to Install, very difficult to Disconnect
I signed up with Energy Australia and Dodo using Energy Monster. I advised them upfront that I would only be needing the services for one month because I am heading overseas. The process was simple and quick BUT when it came time to disconnect I was told by Energy Monster that they don't handle disconnections so they gave me the generic numbers for Dodo and Energy Australia. Dodo was reasonably easy to disconnect but energy Australia has been a nightmare (as always).
- Firstly they did not include my Account Number in the Welcome pack and...I have not yet received my first bill so don't know my account number - I therefore had to go through a lengthy identity verification process - Then they advised that there would be a disconnection fee of $43 which Energy Monster did not mention - They advised that i would not receive a confirmation of the disconnection, that the disconnection fee would appear on my final bill (so what happens if the operator makes a mistake, do I keep getting charged?) In conclusion I would suggest not to use Energy Monster because they are all about making the sale but zero after sales service, you are left to deal with the likes of Energy Australia whom we all know are useless when it comes to after sales service.

Was put through to these guys when calling origin but glad they did!
I was a bit annoyed to begin with because I called Origin to have a switch of names from one property to another, and the lady told me she was putting me through to some sort’ve superior that was able to do the switch where as she couldn’t. So I assumed I’d be put on to someone in Origin but she put me through to Electricity Monster.
Which is probably a muck up on Origins part, but wheel.
Anyway turns out he got me on to a lot better deal with Simply Energy who I used to be with and knew they have great deals.
Was just confusing at the star...t as to why, at the time I thought someone from Origin would be looking around to get me a deal with a different company. So I do feel a bit cheated, but are overly happy with the result. Power was already running at both properties so the connect that day issue that previous reviews have said wasn’t an issue for us.
Misleading AD Campaign: Cannot connect same day!!!
I feel bad for the night guy who just been dealing with me for the last 4hours. Started dealing with them at 10am. With the promise of our electricity turned on in a couple of hours. *NOTHING* Called them back and said it will be switched on today before midnight. *NOTHING* Poor night guy had to deal with me, sorry. But your marketing strategy of *CONNECT ASAP* is such a lie.
The man went out of his way to help me & make sure that thing's got sorted out. Would recommend without reservation. He not only helped with changing companies but assisted with a billing issue with my previous provider
False claim to connect electricity on same day
I connected to electricity through electricity monster on 14/12/20. They have ads running they would connect it on same day, paid extra $98 to be connected on same day that is 14/12 by john. I informed them multiple times that i need power by next day or else i will be loosing business. No connection even at 15/12/20. When contacted their answer is everything went through their end. My question to them is if you cannot deliver dont make claimes and charge cx extra. I called them on 14/12 again in evening 5:30 pm asking about update, elijah assu...red me that it will be connected by midnight. Do not make false claims when you cannot deliver it. Update: i spoke directly to united australia the wholesaler of electricity. The connection could’nt be processed as they put that it needs physical access to the property and they dint even book an appointment for the physical access. They informed that this order would have never gone through as the information provided is not right and remote energisation is required to power the property. This shows the incompetancy of the sales people as clearly they are mostly after sales and no care as to what happens if they do not do their job right Update: i had to call united energy and organise it myself. They have said if the order was put right in the first place i would not have any hassels. Not once have any customer service representative have called back to check or update. Pathetic. Please stay away from such companies who are supporting untill their sale is made and after that they dont bother.
Information exceeded expectations
I rang just to quiery my current energy providers rate. Finished up with a new provider saving me 50%+ per month. No pressure, clear, concise information. Very patient & friendly staff happy to explain things until I understood everything to make an informed decision. Should of called sooner to save myself money & benefit from their knowledge

Piece of cake
Alex from Electricity Monster made the process of changing electricity plans for three different residents very easy and uncomplicated. He was clear and concise, friendly and personable, all info was thorough with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Its important to clarify your address clearly and ensure you're both discussing the same smart meter- quote meter number. I'd recommend Electricity Monster to friends/family.
The Customer Service and the recommendation were outstanding.
I had casually called electricity monster over the phone last week, to gain more information about transferring the electricity connection from my old house to the new house. Alex from Monster had spoken to me and he had supported and recommended the ways to do it, the disconnection of the electricity in the old place, the connection of electricity in the new place all happened effortlessly. I had also inquired about the Internet and mid this week, my internet connection with Dodo is implemented at my new place and got a better package in comparison to what I was paying with Telstra. Great work Alex and Thanks to Electricity Monster.
Got the wrong address
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY . Moved to a new place and arrange electricity with Electricity Monster . On the day there was no power at all because they arranged power to a wrong address . Contact them and was told by one of the Supervisors that they could not help me - virtually told that I would be without power , even though it was their mistake . Very unprofessional eventually got power by dealing directly to Origin - they went out of their way to have me connected to electricity on the day . Electricity Monster was a waste of time - very unprofessional and not willing to help at all ( but happy to take their commission )
sign up energy Australia deal that I have to cancel immediately
Poor customer service experience I hv to cancel the deal I just signed up immediately!
So electricity monster the broker said there isn’t a referral program but gave me the energy Australia contact number to call n find out! I couldn’t brother as the person picking up the call was giving me poor customer service.
So after signed up the deal with electricity monster broker [name removed], despite she turned down all the referral program ( as I was checking to get some voucher for a friend who referred me to sign up with energy Australia) but ...asked me to refer her more customers and she would gives me some vouchers for referral!!!! I was so annoyed with her, Firstly, if there isn’t any referral program that’s fine, then don’t ask me to ring energy Australia to ask if they is any!!!! As she was expecting me to sign a deal with her instead of directly with energy Australia!!!!!
